All researchers listed here are members of Narrative Lab Teams (NLT) and are pursuing an academic career / have held a research grant while in NLT:
Sergio Abellán Gómez is a PhD student at the University of Acalá, where he also collaborates in the teaching and research activity of the Modern Philology department after being awarded a predoctoral scholarship by the Ministry of Education in Spain. He is currently working at the intersection between Narratology and Cultural Studies, with a particular focus on the narrative capabilities of videogames and digital media. He is a member of Narrative Lab Teams (NLT), where he contributes with his experience in mixed-method analysis by combining computational and humanistic approaches to TV and other media.
Slavka Madarova is a PhD student at the Faculty of Modern Philology of the University of Alcalá. She holds a scholarship from the Ministry of Education (FPU-MECD), with teaching responsibilities in the department. Her PhD studies the perception of English-speaking children in English classes in Spain. She was awarded ‘Best student of the year’ upon graduating from MA in Teachers’ Training (English) in 2018. She is a co-editor of the journal Encuentro and of the book Focus on learning: Contribution to the field of ESP. She is currently participating in the training innovation project “Audiovisual rhetoric in the FL: persuasion in digital environments”.
Olivia Serret Sanz holds a bachelor in English Studies (2016-2020), and a master's, both from the university of Alcalá. In both cases, she graduated with honors with her final dissertation on character networks in The Godfather (bachelor) and the technical procedures unreliable narrators employ to create covert progression (Master's). She was a beneficiary of the Community of Madrid’s Scholarships for Academic Excellence for four consecutive years (2016-2020), and an intern at the University’s Department of Modern Philology (2019-2020), as well as an ‘introduction to research’ internship at the same department (2020-2021).
Efraín Pérez Delgado holds a bachelor in English Studies at the Universidad de Alcalá. He was granted an ‘Introduction to research’ scholarship by the Universidad de Alcalá (2018/19). In his final dissertation he analyzed the character of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the perspective of the Bildungsroman and the hero’s journey.
